We didn’t receive our copy of the newspaper this morning, which was upsetting until we realized that today was a holiday in Sweden, All Saints Day. This holiday is probably the main reason that Halloween has not caught on here. Swedes really, really respect the memories of their ancestors and All Saints Day is an occasion to decorate graveyards and visit the final resting places of the family’s forebears. We stopped by the church where Mariette was christened as a baby and took a few (dark) shots.
Every grave has candles and most were decorated with pine boughs.
And that will do it for today.
